1. Castle Town of Aliahan | [Level 1]
Your quest begins this morning. After mother dearest wakes you up, follow her outside. Go north, and follow the sandy path to the castle ahead. Once there, go straight ahead and up the stairs to the throne room, where you'll meet with the king. He'll encourage you on your choice to begin a quest many have began, to defeat the archfiend Baramos. Your father Ortega was one of those men. To get you started, he'll grant you 50 G. After the meeting, leave the Castle and head west to the Eatery, where you'll be needing the help of others. More specifically, the greatest help you could get is a strong Soldier, a lady Pilgrim, and a powerful Wizard. To do so, first go up the steps and register those companions to the man behind the desk. You'll be needing your scrolls of record, so let him use it to register your companions on. After that, you can go downstairs to the woman behind the counter and add those companions to your party. Once again, you'll be needing your scrolls of record. With a full party of four, you should make sure the Wizard sits last in your party, and the Soldier first, and then the Hero second, and Pilgrim third. Now you should leave the town and head out to the big bad world of monsters, where you can level up and obtain a hefty bag of gold. To be sure, you should collect at least 200 G and obtain the third level for each of your party members. Keep in mind, that the Soldier levels up fast, at times he's even two levels ahead, and the Hero levels up the slowest. However, as you attain 25 levels, this will be reversed as the Hero will level up much faster instead. Afterwards, choose to keep away from the weapon stock for now and head north to the village of Reeve. Shops

2. Village of Reeve | [Level 3]
In here, you can learn about two of your mission objectives, the mysterious Tower of Najima which lie on the isolated isle west of Aliahan, and the Thief's Key. To make a long story short, the Thief's Key can be found within the Tower of Najima. But to get there, you can either take a cave, or hidden access way located just south and a few steps east of Reeve. But before you can go there, you'll need to grow in strength and buy some equipment to better protect and arm yourself. To do that, go out to the world map and fight some more enemies. Note you can meet a few more monsters now, namely the Giant Anteater. Be careful not to stray too far to the east for there lies even stronger monsters. You can maybe risk a fight now and then, but be sure you're healed to the max! Attain Level 6 for the entire party and try to collect around 700 G. If you're short, you really only need 671 G. After acquiring the needed G, come back inside the village of Reeve and head to the weapon shop. If you only have 671 G, sell of the Soldier's Club and the Wizard's Club for 29 G. (Have to sell them at the Tool Shop) With the 700 G, choose to purchase the Chain Sickle for the Hero, and the Leather Armor for the Pilgrim. Be sure to equip them, and then transfer the Hero's excess Copper Sword to the Soldier, and the Pilrgrim excess Wayfarer's Clothes to the Wizard and be sure to equip that. Here's how my characters look.
Now, you should be at Level 6 for all, and you'll be able to get to the Tower of Najima and battle the monsters there. Also, you'll probably want to bring some antidote herbs along in case the Babbles poison you there. Shops

3. The Tower-Cave of Najima | [Level 6]
There are two ways to go about this task, and both paths have their own items. I recommend taking both paths to level up a bit more along the way. First path, the small section of odd forest just south and a few steps east of Reeve. Go there. First Path: Small Patch of Forest south of Reeve You'll find yourself in an above-ground section. Note the inaccessible room to the right, and go down the stairs to the north-left. Since this section is considered the Tower Basement, you'll meet the tower enemies here as well, but not in the cave. These enemies are the Babble, Froggore, and Masked Moth. Now in a green-dungeon area, go south and then follow the path. Note the big door here. Along the way, turn left for a chest [32 G]. Then if you're nose-straight on continuing to the Tower, turn south. Otherwise, go back right and re-surface, then head to the next paragraph. Otherwise, to get to the tower continue south to an upstairs, which takes you to the Tower itself. Then skip the next paragraph and head to the Tower of Najima paragraph. Second Path: Cave of Najima From Reeve, it's located to the far-south-west-south. Go there. Once there, take the bottom set of stairs. Then follow the path right and head south-right to a chest with [Medical Herb]. Then head back and go north. Follow this path to a new area with a chest before you [Wayfarer's Clothes]. Then go north, and then north again to another chest [16 G]. Then head back south and turn right to the stairs. Now you find yourself at the green-dungeon. Head right and take the first set of stairs you see (up is where you were if you went through the first path). The Tower of Najima Now you're in a tower section, with different music too. By now you may be well spent in HP, and if so, you're in luck, because there's a man running an inn here! Go north a bit, and you'll notice 4 rooms, 2 on each side. The top-left room has a set up steps leading to the inn. Going north a bit more, you'll see two rooms, 1 on either side of you, but those rooms are dead ends, as are the bottom two rooms on either side of you. Straight east from the room with the inn contains the upstairs you want to take. With the inn so close by, it makes this place an excellent place to level up. Upstairs, 2F, you'll notice you have two ways to go. Going north will get you two chests, and I recommend going after them for the experience and extra gold. So go north/west and follow the main path to a "T", with rooms to go on either side. First go left to get the chest [40 G], then go right and upstairs. Here, simply take that chest [Leather Helmet]. Give it to your wizard to equip, as that will be his strongest helmet in the game (and only helmet for him). Then return downstairs, and return to the other stairs, but this time go south. Follow this path, and take the second north path, there you'll find some steps to go up. Now at the 3F, simply follow this path a little ways and you'll be plagued with paths to take. Beware of the Babbles, if you get poisoned you may want to cure it with an antidote herb. Continue on the main path and take the second path which goes south. The northern paths connect with each other, and the first path down takes you where you eventually want to be, and the far right - south path takes you on a long and winding dead-end. But for here, grab the chest [Wing of Wyvern] and then return north, and go left to the first south path. There, go up the stairs. Now on the 4F, you'll notice you're locked in with an old man. Talk to the old man. He'll mention a dream that replicates this very moment, and he'll give you the [Thief's Key], which will unlock that giant door. It takes you nowhere, but you can just jump off the edge to quickly escape the tower. Outside, re-enter the Tower and use the steps to get to the basement. Now, for some extra treasure: go north and follow the path to a giant door. Unlock it to find some treasure, [Agility Seed], [Medical Herb]. Now continue outside, and head north to Reeve. Monsters

4. The Shrine South-East of Reeve | [Level 7]
To begin your next mission, you'll need to visit the Shrine South-East of Reeve. You'll learn that you'll need a Magic Ball to break the seal at the Cave of Enticement. To get a Magic Ball, visit the man at Reeve, located in the northeastern house behind a locked door. He'll give you the [Magic Ball]. But to continue on and enter the Cave of Enticement, you'll really need to increase your current levels. Your Hero will need to be at level 8, if not level 9. The enemies around the Shrine South-East of Reeve are the best way as of now. At the other end of the Cave of Enticement are enemies which make a very rough transition for you, which is why you'll need to increase your levels as high as your patience can stand. Now we go to check out your equipment. Given that you should roughly have at least 800 G accumulated, head back to Reeve and visit the Weapon Shop. Defense is important now, and so if the attack of your weak characters. So buy 3 Leather Shield for each the Hero, Soldier and Pilgrim. (270 G). Then buy the Chain Sickle (500 G) for the Pilgrim, which will greatly increase his/her attack and make him/her a substantial attacker for now. You can the Club, which should have been what was previously equipped. You should also have a Leather Helmet you found at the Tower of Najima equipped on the Wizard. With all that said, here's how my party looks.
Now to get to the Cave of Enticement; north of that Shrine down there is a small patch of water, walk up to it and you'll be brought up close to it. Once there you'll find a small opening which leads to the actual cave. Monsters near the Shrine South-East of Reeve

5. The Cave of Enticement | [Level 8]
The Cave of Enticement is a bit more maze-ier than the Tower of Najima. You won't think so at first, but you will when you get in the thick of the cave. You'll also be introduced to pits. If you fall into one, you'll end up some number of floors below you. Some dungeons require that you use these pits, and some dungeons have them to block your path, or just as nuisances. Either way, you should try to explore where the pits take you. But for the Cave of Enticement, they just act as barriers. If you fall, you end up in a small cavern with nothing but a set of stairs leading back up. Now in the dungeon, follow the path to an old man. Then approach the wall below him. Standing at the scratch marks on the ground, use the Magic Ball and the wall will be eradicated. Continue on. Now for the maze-y part. Begin by noticing that the stairs just to the room above and to the right of you now is a set of downstairs which leads to the basement, which is where you'll fall through a pit to. Then head up in the main area, and take the second path you see which goes left (or the last path you see that goes right). Either path takes you to the other side of that pit in your way. Then go the whole way up and turn left to get a treasure chest [Antidote Herb]. Go back to the right and go right. Go down the second path you see (the last path down). Follow this path for a long ways and you'll arrive just below where you began this floor. Go up and turn left at the second path for another chest with [Magic Knife]. Immediately equip this to your wizard to make him a substantial fighter as well. Then go back to the main hall, go up and turn left at the next path up. Follow this path to stairs going down. Now you're in an area with three paths to take. The correct one and only path not leading you to a dead end, is the far left path. So use the Thief's Key to unlock that door and follow it to a portal. After that, you'll be free of the monsters of the Cave, and after leaving the temple, you'll find the monsters to be even tougher!

Chapter 2: The Magic Key |
6. The Castle of Romaly | [Level 10]
Use your key to open the door here, and exit the temple. Then leave the map and you'll be back at the world map, but on the Island of Romaly and Isis. If you're weak from the fighting in the Cave of Enticement, then you should definitely head straight ahead to the castle you see, which is Romaly. Otherwise, battle twice of thrice, just to check yourself against these monsters. The monsters do get even tougher once you pass the peninsula area of the castle. You can invoke a side-quest here, although you really don't need to do it to activate the quest. Go talk to the King of Romaly and he'll ask you to retrieve his Crown that Kandar and his henchmen have stolen from him. Kandar rests within the Tower of Shanpane to the west, but you'll need to be around level 15 to beat him. So hold off on that a while. For now, just keep fighting monsters and leveling up. Particularly you'll want to buy a pair of Broad Swords for your two fighters, the Iron Spear, Chain Mail and Bronze Shield for the Pilgrim. That'll cost upwards of 4000 G. Luckily, you can try your luck if you're a betting man by going to the Monster Arena in Romaly. There, you can pick a monster and hope he wins, that way you'll be raking in the cash! But for you more Valorous and honored adventurers, I suggest taking the gold from the monsters outside, along with the experience derived from it. Your goals this time are to reach level 12 and as much gold as possibly close to 4000 G. When you reach level 11, you could probably go visit Kanave in the north and battle the stronger monsters up there. One final note, before leaving Romaly Castle to get to Kanave, and when you obtain enough gold, get what you can. For now, buy the Iron Spear, Chain Mail and Bronze Shield for the Pilgrim (1340 G), and also, the Chain Mail for the Hero (480 G) Then, trade the Pilgrim's Chain Sickle to the Soldier! Then should also sell off the extra equipment, because no-one else can use them. Then battling monsters and preparing for the next shop section, you'll need 5600 G. Items are suddenly getting expensive! It's a good idea to peek ahead and buy the two Half-Plate Armors as soon as you gather 2200 G. It's a good idea to do that for any section, instead of accumulating and buying everything in one big chunk.

7. The Village of Kanave | [Level 12]
Ok. Now that you've obtained enough gold, I'll begin with the shops. Buy two Broad Swords, one for each your Soldier and Hero (3000 G). Next buy a Half Plate Armor for the Soldier (1100 G). Finally, buy two Iron Shields, one for each your Soldier and Hero (1400 G). It's quite a step up from the Aliahan shops, but it's very important. Levels alone at this point, unless you try your patience, will not get you far. Also, sell off the excess equipment. Now, there is a small secret lying in this town. As by now, you may have noticed that your wizard does minimal damage and hardly contributes as a true fighter except by his magic. So what you can do is get him a Poison Needle. That will considerably lower his attack power, but in exchange, it will sometimes add Death as a status effect. It's helpful at times, but it has a low chance of actually dealing death in a single hit. To get it, you'll need to use the Thief's Key on the Tool Shop's back door, but at night. That way, the shop owner isn't blocking your way to those chests. One has a Club, the other has the Poison Needle which you should equip to the Wizard.
Now for continuing the main game. To the north is another town - Noaniels. Go there, you'll see what's next. Shops

8. The Town of Noaniels | [Level 12]
Noaniels is a sleeping town! What happened!? Everyone is asleep. It's not really important to wake them up, but it might be a good idea. Investigate the outside world a bit more. Traveling to the east you'll find a cave and a suspicious field north of it. Go to the Field and you'll appear at the Hidden Village of the Elves. You'll notice the increasing power of the enemies. Good thing for the equipment huh? One quick data bit. You may encounter the Shadow monster. The Shadow is simply another monster in disguise, and what it really is, is not known. It mimics that monster entirely, hence the name Shadow because you can't really see it. At the village, you'll learn that the Elves really hate humans. The (queen) elf will impart some knowledge. Her daughter Anne fell in love with a human, ran away with the Precious Dream Ruby, never to return. But what happened to Noaniels isn't made readily apparent yet. The old man mentions that the fault is blamed to his son. Somehow the Elves are linked to the Sleeping Village of Noaniels. It doesn't take a genius to know where to go next - that cave just south of here. There you'll find the Dream Ruby, hence the name of the cave. However, the monsters in that cave are very tough! You'll want to level up in this area to about level 13. There is no more equipment to buy, so just level up a bit first. The cave itself will prove a valuable place to level up as there is a Healing Spring for which you can easily restore your HP/MP. When you're ready, head into the cave. 9. Cave of the Dream Ruby | [Level 13]
Upon entry, follow the path south and make the first turn left. Get the chest for [Wing of Wyvern]. Back on the main path, keep following until the road curves right, then make the first turn north, for another chest [288 G]. Back to the main path. Follow the path again to a 'Y'. Go south, and take the stairs down to the 2B. Another short section - just take the set of stairs even deeper to the 3B. Now, you'll see a bit of water and sand. Get the chest [Acorns of Life]. Then continue to the north side and go up the stairs. Another short section - just take the set of stairs back up to the 1B. Then just head straight to the left and down a different set of steps. You'll notice a strange structure amidst the water, which is the Spring of Life. Make it to the Spring by following the outer edge of the water. If you're under leveled, this is the place to level up. Your hero should be at level 13, and your soldier at level 14. If you're prepared, then wrap yourself back out of the center of the water and head left. Stay on the path, and continue north bypassing the option to go left. At the top wall, you can go left [Magic Knife], or right [Strength Seed]. Then head back south and make that left turn, following it to a set of steps. In the new area, go left and then south at the first cut down. Don't go down these stairs, because they'll just take you to a dead-end. South of these steps, go right for a chest [80 G]. Then go back to the stairs and turn left. Continue left and into the left cut-section. Then head south for a chest [224 G]. Go back up and left to the main hall, then turn south and notice the two cut-sections to the right. Enter the bottom one for a chest [48 G], then head up to the north one, but enter that one from the bottom edge so you don't go straight down the stairs (if you do, just come back up), and get the chest [Fairy Water]. Then go down the stairs. You're now at the final area in this cave. Simply follow the path to a chest [Dream Ruby]. Having at last found the Dream Ruby, you'll also see a note which suggests that the elf-human couple had killed themselves to be celebrate their forbidden love in the beyond. So now begins the trek back outside. If you have the spell, ok. Otherwise you have to walk. Refer back to this section to make your way back. Upon exiting, continue north to the Hidden Village of the Elves. Talk to the queen elf. She'll explain it to you (supposedly you told her), that Anne and the human cast themselves into an underground lake. She'll take the Dream Ruby and give you the [Wake Up Powder]. Now you can restore the Town of Noaniels. So go back to Noaniels, and use the Wake Up Powder to notice some changes. Job well done, everybody's awakening. Although it's hardly a prize, you can now shop for slightly better equipment. Namely, just a suit of armor for your wizard. The Cloak of Evasion costs 2900 G and has the chain defense value as the Chain Mail (but costs more). Get one for your wizard. The Wizard's Wand (+15 Atk) may be more of a re-usable item then a weapon. Should the wizard's magic ever run out, you'll have the Wizard's Wand which casts Blaze to one enemy. I really don't recommend buying the Wizard's Wand.
One other thing in Noaniels, you'll learn about the Magic Key and Assaram. It may very well be the next objective, but not just yet. More leveling to do first. Other data bits, Ortega was once here and went to Assaram to find the Magic Key long ago. Next mission - the Crown that Kandar stole! But first get your Hero up to level 15. To do this, you should fight the monsters in the Tower of Shanpane, or in the Dream Ruby Cave at the Spring. At the tower the monsters get tougher at higher levels, but most of them are Noaniels (area) monsters. Kandar himself however, requires that you be level 15 to beat him, or you won't fare very well in the battle. To get to the Tower, go south of Noaniels, but walk the western edge of the mountains there and follow the southwest venture to a bridge. Keep going southwest to find the tower. Monsters

10. The Tower of Shanpane | [Level 15]
Upon entry, turn north and follow the path, whirling around to stairs. At the 2F, exit the room to the west and head north, following the walls here to another room at the northern edge. Go up the stairs to the 3F. Go east to a room with a chest [384 G]. Then exit the room and head west from the stairs. Follow the walls, and enter the second room (the first just has a man). There, go up the stairs to the 4F. Go to the southern end of this floor and open up the door, and go up the stairs to the 5F. Prepare yourself, then go south to the soldier people. They'll run away to 'tell the boss'. You're not fighting the boss just yet, because at the top floor, you'll get suckered into a trap floor. You'll fall down, but then go back up. They're gone! Be sure to heal yourselves, prepare to fight Kandar and his henchmen. Then jump off to the north. Then approach Kandar himself. Strategies? Kill the Kandar Henchmans first, then focus on Kandar. Have the pilgrim cast SpeedUp and heal as needed. More importantly, have the wizard cast Increase repeatedly. Sap rarely works, and spells like Blaze and Firebal are also for the most part ineffective. Just pummel and heal. After Increase is cast enough times, Kandar will barely be able to even hurt you. Afterwards, you'll receive 814 Exp (all four party members alive) but no gold. Now it's time to present the ever-so-honorable gift of mercy. Kandar will give-up and ask you to let him go in exchange for the Golden Crown. It's not really a choice, because he'll keep asking you otherwise. When you say 'Yes', he'll flee and leave you the chest. Open it for the [Golden Crown]. Then leave the tower and return to Romaly. Now you get a choice - keep the Crown, (boosts a party member's Def by 6 (recommended given to Wizard, it's what I do, so you should too. Then move the Wizard's Leather Helmet to the Pilgrim)) or... At Romaly, you'll be given an interesting choice, but a short lasted (or as long as you want really) one. Talk to the King. You'll be given the choice to be King of Romaly! You can become King, and talk to the people for some interesting responses. When you're done playing King, head for the Monster Arena and speak to the former King (dressed as the King's Right Hand Man). He'll give you the option to return the way you were. Remember you can always return to Romaly and speak to the King to become King once again if you so choose. Anyway, back to the main game. What to do now? Explore more, head from Romaly, to the east across the bridge. The monsters will violently increase in power. The Wild Apes are really dangerous. From the bridge, head south by southeast to reach another town - Assaram.

There are some shops which you can haggle the price down to 2x the normal price anywhere else, but they're all good equipment, and I don't recommend even looking there. An Armor shop opens up in the daytime, and there is a weapon shop which only opens at night containing normal items, and there is the Battle Axe for the Hero, but I just hold off for the next town. As new places usually go, you should gain another level (for your hero) so he's at level 16. When you do that, you should have lots and lots of gold by now. Then head west to the great desert. Shops

12. The Castle-Town of Isis | [Level 16]
When you reach the desert, first turn south to a swamp-surrounded shrine, called the Swamp Shrine. You'll get some new Intel about the Magic Key. It lies in the pyramid But he suggests visiting the Castle of Isis, which lies in the oasis. Aha! So go there, it's just north and west by west to get there. Enter the oasis from the south-west side, then you'll be brought to a close up-screen with the castle. You'll also notice the monsters are a step up in the desert. Inside, there's another Monster Arena and much better equipment, and much costlier too. Full Plate Armors will really help out. You'll want to get new equipment straight off. Buy two Full Plate Armors, for the Soldier and Hero. Buy the Giant Shears for the Soldier, and the Battle Axe for the Hero. (11100 G) There's an awesome item in this Castle, and to find it, enter the castle within the town. As soon as you enter, go left along the trees and follow that path left and on the opposite side of the tree, north into the castle itself. Keep going north and take those stairs. Down below, go right and north along the first path up. Follow it to a set of down stairs. Here, open the chest [Meteorite Armband]. A ghost will appear, which you do not have to talk to, but it's just a story element. This item isn't donned through the equip menu, but rather when you use it as an item like the medical herb. Give it to your Pilgrim and have the pilgrim use it as an item to equip it. This item doubles the wearer's agility, and makes that character almost always lead in battle, which is good for a healer who needs to heal someone pronto. Now go outside and battle the monsters like always, until your hero reaches level 17. When you attain that level, head north from the Oasis to the Pyramid.

13. The Pyramid | [Level 17]
You'll need to be very careful here, because you can't always use magic, some monsters like to put you to sleep, some are extremely tough, and others like the Trick Bag just like to play tricks on you, like surround, robmagic, slow, and the like. If you're under leveled, be sure to bring plenty of medical herbs with you. If you're at level 17 with the proper equipment, then you'll have no problem. As you enter, you'll notice you can go left or right along the outside walls. Well, if you fall into a pit you'll land in the dungeon room, and down there, you can come back up to the place you can go left along the outside wall. Also, you'll be introduced to fake treasure chests. These fakes at this point are Man-Eater Chests (which will be included in the enemy lists of this area). If you have the spell X-Ray you can pre-determine the fakeness of a chest. If you do encounter one, you're in for a rough and deadly fight. Now having said that, onward to the walkthrough. Walk north and when you see the path widen out, beware because the center two spaces are secret pits. Walk along the outside walls of them to pass, or go left and right. At the first intersection, a chest to the left is [Empty], and to the right is also an [Empty]. So just head north to the next intersection. 3 chests to the left contain (bottom to top); [Man-Eater Chest], [Man-Eater Chest], [Empty]. So just go right instead, because up takes you to a dead-end. Follow this path to a set of stairs. There's another [Empty] chest on this maze-floor. So just forget that. Also, some more chests back on the first floor accessible through another set of stairs takes you to 3 more [Empty] chests. To continue your game, head straight south and then left to the stairs, take them. Now you're at the 'Puzzle Floor'. There are 4 buttons, 2 to either side. If you really explored the Castle of Isis, you found that some kids were singing a strange song, which actually pertains to this puzzle. "...The round button is the button of the Sun. Open the door with the small button. Oh, which to try? Oh, which to test? First to the east, then to the west..." First off, both side's inside sections are traps. Here's what to do, go the right first. Then step on the bottom-right of the (upside-down) Y. Push that button. Then head over to the west and push the western button. You'll hear a sound. Then head back to the central area and head north. The barrier will have removed itself and the two chests area available. The left chest contains [Vitality Seed], and the right one contains the [Magic Key]. Finally! But there's another thing you do. You can opt to get a whole crap-load of chests, and/or get the Golden Claw. First off, the chests. On either side of this floor with the Magic Key, you can go up the east or west sides to another stairway. Do that. Here, use the Magic Key to open the door to access the chests. Beware though, every time you open a chest, you hear eerie voices and you have to fight 4 Mummy Mans. From top-left to right, they are: [176 G], [40 G], [Strength Seed], [80 G]. Next row: [24 G], [Agility Seed]. Row 3: [Medical Herb], [112 G]. Row 4: [56 G], [Wing of Wyvern], [304 G], [24 G]. There's one more chest to get, go upstairs. Up there, unlock the magic-key door and get that chest [Flashy Clothes]. If you go upstairs again, you can jump off the top of the pyramid and go back to Isis. You can also sneak in Isis at night and grab some chests with your Magic Key! If you want the Golden Claw, then read ahead. Otherwise, skip to the next section. The Golden Claw is a valuable item that will increase your monster encounter rate by 4 (when in your party inventory), which really makes it difficult to get out, because where you find the claw you can't just cast Outside. So I would recommend coming back later. The claw is located in a secret underground chamber in the 'dungeon' floor, bottom left corner. Search the ground in the upper-left section of that southwest quadrant to find some stairs. Then follow the path to a coffin and search the floor there. Getting out is up to you. Go to Aliahan to store it for later purposes or sell it. Monsters Outside

Chapter 3: The Ship |
14. The Castle-Town of Portoga | [Level 17]
With your new Magic Key, return to Romaly, and head to the shrine north-west of there. Besides that strange cave near Assaram, this is the only place you've set to understand, and guess what - there's a magic key door there too! So unlock the doors and travel through to the other side of the river via the shrine. Now in a new area with new monsters, travel southwest to the Town (Castle-Town) there. Inside, you'll learn about getting a ship, go see the king. Inside the Castle, head towards the left side to greet the king. Black Pepper? To the East? So it seems you're running errands now. The King will give you the Royal Scroll which will push you through the cave near Assaram, to the other side. Before leaving, check out those chests in the middle of this castle if you want - they contain (left to right) [88 G], [Vitality Seed], [Spider's Web]. Shops

15. The Cave of Norud | [Level 17]
Leave Portoga and return to Assaram. Once there, enter the Cave nearby. Don't worry about monsters, none will appear. Inside, walk down the path until you have no where left but to turn up. There you'll see the Dwarf Norud and two chests which contain (left to right) [Training Suit], [Club] Then talk to Norud. Then use the Royal Scroll while still facing him. Say Yes to his question, then follow him south. Norud will open a secret passage for you to travel through. Go through the passage to the eastern exit. Outside you'll be faced with more bad monsters, much worse this time.

16. The Town of Baharata | [Level 18]
From the eastern exit of the Cave of Norud, travel south by east by south. You'll arrive at the Town of Baharata. This town sells the Black Pepper, seems simple enough, but it's not. That shop isn't open, because the seller's daughter was kidnapped. To see an event, travel past the shop and to the sandy area to the south. The seller and his daughter's beloved are arguing. Galen will run off to rescue Tania. The Vile Folk in this case is...Kandar! Only this time he's stronger. Before heading off, be sure to raise the hero to level 19. By then. There is no new equipment to buy. Additional help as far as equipment can be bought at Assaram - the Iron Helmet helps a lot, but it's not worth the money in my opinion. Don't worry, you'll be getting something similar to that when you get your boat. When you're ready, head south and turn east across the bridge. Then follow the river north and cross west on that bridge. Enter the cave you see to tackle on Kandar again. Shops

17. The Cave Northeast of Baharata | [Level 19]
Upon entry, you'll be awe-struck. It's all the same! But don't worry. The monotony isn't really that bad. There's a lot of treasure, so if you're overstocked, leave now and return to Aliahan to deposit or sell those items! If you're treasure bound, follow this paragraph. First, head left to a 4-Way. Then go north to another 4-Way, and north once more (use Magic Key). You'll see some chests in this (upper-left room). From top to bottom right, they are [Man-Eater Chest], [552 G]. Next go left to another room. Get this chest [Fairy Water]. Go left once more to 2 more chests. (From bottom-left to top) they are [Medical Herb], [232 G]. Next go straight south. (Need Magic Key at far south). In this room, head left and grab that chest [Man-Eater Chest]. Then skip the next paragraph, and head to the next. If you're not treasure bound, head left to a 4-Way. Then head straight south until you can no more. Then go left, and then south. (Use Magic Key where you can't go south). Now go as far right as you can to some stairs. Head left, and use the Magic Key to get through to a room to the left with 4 treasure chests. From top left, top right, bottom left, to bottom right, they are: [Strength Seed], [Acorns of Life], [Intelligence Seed], [Agility Seed]. Then go back to the right and head south. Before continuing, be sure to completely heal yourselves. Because the fight is up ahead. The first fight is with 4 Kandar Henchmans. These guys are the same as they were during the first Kandar fight. Easily defeat them, re-heal, then continue south. Galen and Tania will cry out from within their cells. Approach the end of the corridor to open the cell doors. Then head north following Tania and Galen, you'll run into Kandar himself. Run up to him to battle him. Kandar is much stronger this round. So use the normal tactics, have the pilgrim heal and cast SpeedUp, and the Wizard cast Increase. Also be sure to take out the Kandar Henchmans first. Like before, Kandar will be beg to be let loose. You must let him go, saying no will make him just repeat it over and over. After that, Kandar will flee and you'll never have to fight him again. So now you can make your way out, or just cast Outside, then return Baharata. At Baharata, the Pepper Shop is re-opened and you'll be given some Black Pepper as reward. With the Black Pepper, return to Portoga. At Portoga, enter the castle and speak with the King. You'll now have a ship. Exit the castle by foot to get on your ship. Sail out, but before leaving the town, go down those odd-stairs. If you don't now, you never will, ever. Inside is a man that will mention a curse (Olivia and Errol). It's just another tidbit of info. Exit. Ack! Your boat's gone! Just exit and re-enter Portoga and it will be sitting near the castle. Now you can exit to the world.

This section is dedicated to the monsters of the Ocean. This isn't really a section of the walkthrough, but it's to specify the monsters of the ocean. 19. The Town of Lancel | [Level 19]
The next thing you want to do is check out the Shrine of Dhama and the Tower of Garuna. But before doing that, we're going to go to Lancel. There, you can get better equipment. To get there, Return to Aliahan (so your boat comes with you). Then sail from the ship, directly west of Aliahan. When you come to an Island, get off and head into Lancel. The monsters outside are rather simple. Shop time. Here's what to get. Sacred Robe for Pilgrim, Iron Mask for Hero and Soldier, and the Sledge Hammer for Soldier. (17900 G)
You may have noticed you can sneak around to the back of town to the shrine. This is a task the hero will attempt by his lonesome, but much later when you have the Final Key and Hero at level 34. Anyhow, leave town. Shops

20. The Shrine of Dhama | [Level 20]
The Shrine of Dhama side-quest involves class changing. But there's also the ultimate class which you can change into if you attempt to get the Book of Satori from the Tower of Garuna. To get to the Shrine of Dhama, return to Baharata and ride out on your ship. Ride out and sail northeast along the coast until you reach a small shrine (this isn't it). Get off by it and walk northwest to the Castle (this is Dhama). Inside Dhama, if you're at Level 20, you can change a character's class. I really don't recommend it. When you change classes, all stats are halved, and level reset to 1. With the Book of Satori, you can change into the Sage. The Goof-Off can do so without the book. The Sage learns skills of both the Pilgrim and Wizard, and can wield what the Hero can. So now we begin the mini-quest for the Book of Satori (which satisfies leveling up in the process for the next quest) From the Shrine of Dhama, go directly north to the tower there. Other Facilities

21. Tower of Garuna | [Level 21]
From the entrance, head south-left. Take the second path down to a chest [Intelligence Seed]. Then continue to the left and turn north to the green, and walk out to a seemingly secret section to the very top-left. Go upstairs to 2F. Here, walk straight to the right, crossing the tight-rope. Another new feature just being introduced - the Tight Ropes. Nothing special really, but you can fall off (go up or down, or left or right, whichever direction the rope doesn't go). For here, just walk straight to the right, and then down the stairs back to 1F. Simply take the travel portal. You'll appear somewhere else on this same floor. It's the center actually, and you now have three sets of stairs you could take. Begin with the top set. Take yet another stairs going up. Then, at the 3F, grab the chest for [248 G]. Then return down two sets of stairs to the 3-Way on 1F. Now take the lower set, and once again take more stairs to the 3F. How symmetric - there's another chest [Man-Eater Chest]. Go back down two floors. Now back at the 3-Way, take the right-most set of stairs. And once again, you got some more decisions. There's a set of stairs to both the north and south of you. The north one is a dead end, so take the south stairs to the 3F. Then just keep trekking up the spire to the 4F, and then to the 5F. Now you're at another Tight-Rope. Cross the whole way to the left side and take the southern stairs to go up to the 6F. Open the chest there for [Iron Helmet]. Immediately equip that to your Pilgrim. Then go back downstairs, and head back to mid-way across the Tight-Rope, and jump to the south. You'll land one floor down on the 5F, and near a black pit. Jump down through the black pit to land on the 4F, in a place accessible only through that black pit. Then go down those stairs to the 3F. Here, open that chest for the [Book of Satori] Then Exit the Tower. This Side-Quest is done! Healer

Chapter 4: The Final Key | 22. The Castle of Eginbear | [Level 22]
Now's the start of things more important. The Main Quest of this game is to defeat Baramos. To do that, you need the Bird Ramia to fly to his castle. To get Ramia, you need the Six Orbs, and to get some of those orbs, you need the Final Key. To get the Final Key, you need the Vase of Drought, and to get the Vase of Drought... Return to Portoga, and sail north of Portoga to a small Island with a castle - Eginbear. While you're here, you should fight a bit to get close to Hero Lv 23. Upon entry, you'll notice you can't get inside! Now if your wizard has the spell Invisible - OK. Otherwise, return to Lancel and buy an Invisibility Herb from the item shop, and return to Eginbear. Now you can gain access. As you may have noticed, this is the start of the Final Key quest. And to get the Final Key, you need to lower the shoals guarding the Shrine at the Shoals. To do that, you need the Vase of Drought, housed inside the Castle of Eginbear. Once you sneak past, the effect of invisibility will wear off, and that's alright. Take the downstairs to get to a chamber with a medium difficulty puzzle. The objective of this puzzle is to move all 3 boulders to the room at the top on the colored carpet. Boulders will sink if pushed into water, and you can't pull them. If you screw up, you can just exit and re-enter the room to reset the puzzle. Solution: (R)Down 1. (M)Left 1. (L)Up 1. (L)Right 2. (R)Up 1. (R)Down 1. (L)Up 4. (M) Left 1. (M) Up 1. (M)Right 2. (M)Up 3. (M)Left 1. (M)Up 1. (R)Up 1. (R)Left 4. (R)Up 1. (R)Right 2. (R)Up 3. (R)Right 1. (R)Up 1. Now, a new passageway will open up. 23. The Shrine at the Shoals | [Level 22]
To get here, return to Aliahan. Set sail. Move the ship about 6 spaces to the west and sail directly south. The shoals are simply a set of 4 rocks sticking out of the ocean, and is very easy to miss. Once there, face the southern side, middle shoal and use the Vase of Drought. The shoals will recede and reveal a shrine. Enter the shrine. Inside, take up the chest [Final Key].

24. The Village of Tedanki | [Level 22]
Green Orb Quest. Orb of Darkness. Now for the Orb Quest. There are six orbs, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Purple and Silver. At Tedanki, and with the Final Key, you can get the Green Orb. Tedanki is located south of Portoga, and far to the west of Aliahan. From Portoga, sail south around the shore to the bottom of the cape, and get off, traveling north to the corner of the two rivers. There's the village of Tedanki. It turns out Tedanki is an odd town, because the Archfiend Baramos had laid the town to waste, yet it still lives. The odd secret about the village allows the village to live as it was at night, but remain as perished as it really is in the day-time. Besides the Green Orb, you can also find another powerful artifact. The Lamp of Darkness. It also turns out that Tedanki has some nice equipment to buy as well, namely the Zombie Slasher for the Pilgrim. If you arrive at the village at night, then start here. If you arrive at day-break, go to the next paragraph, then come back here. Start off looking jail located at the north side. Open the cell door and talk to the man there, and you'll receive an Orb (Green Orb). Then head to the equipment shop at the bottom-left of town. Buy the Zombie Slasher and Magic Armor both for the Pilgrim. Now finally, it's time to rest until day-light. So go to the inn and sleep. When you wake up the people will be gone. Now Day-Time, you'll want to get the Lamp of Darkness while you can. So head to the equipment shop to the bottom-left and go up those stairs. Get the chest there for [Lamp of Darkness]. Jump in the pit for fun, and then use the Lamp of Darkness. Day will turn into night, and the people will now be here.
